Travelling time – GYH(O)

JSP 760 Ch 2 outlines guidance regarding travel time that may be allowed by Commanding Officers to compensate for those personnel who spend a significant amount of time travelling when proceeding on leave. The UK NLR has directed that travelling time will be allowed under the following conditions:

• Only journeys taken utilising the GYH(O) will attract travelling time.
• The journey is to a registered address (NOK, parents or privately maintained home).
• The leave period must be for a minimum of 3 working days.
• A maximum of 1 day will be credited to leave accounts to cover travelling time in any one period of leave.
• The policy applies to UK Service Personnel only.
